The Role
We are looking for a creative, analytical, and highly motivated person to join and help lead our Market Research team. In this role, you will directly influence the creation, launch, marketing, and evaluation of our products by being involved in every step of the research process. You will be involved with product and marketing research, working closely with the Research Director and stakeholders at all levels of the company. Your work will influence the direction of a rapidly growing company, helping us develop products that our customers will love.

This position is a remote position and will report to the Director of Research.

 Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive primary and secondary research mixed-mode programs throughout the entire company.
  • Be a sounding board for marketing and product leaders to help them think through our most pressing needs.
  • Dive deep by writing, administering, and analyzing surveys for our customers and beyond.
  • Bring insights by talking to the customers and empathizing with the needs of new business owners.
  • Produce competitive analysis and be willing to look outside our company for new ideas and insights.
  • Lead both B2B and B2C studies. 
  • Work closely with peers and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the company.
  • Manage vendors and third-party researchers when necessary.

Qualifications

  • A hands-on researcher who can conduct quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-mode market research projects from start to finish, and/or with quantitative experience including survey programming, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Comfortable conducting interviews with all kinds of customers.
  • The ability to distill complex research findings into clear, concise guides for anyone and everyone at the company.
  • Experience with online survey engines, like Qualtrics or Decipher.
  • An understanding of statistical analytics and a strong background in research methodology (knowledge of statistics software, like SPSS or R, is a plus).
  • Someone who doesn’t mind the logistics of research, like recruiting respondents, managing vendors, or coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • A good knowledge of marketing channels and how research can directly impact how we talk about our products.
  • ​A self-starter who can take sometimes ambiguous ideas and create powerful research to validate them.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Some level of understanding (or even direct experience) about how small businesses work.
  • ​Understand the basics of design or UX research.
  • ​macOS and G-Workspace knowledge is a plus!
  • ​A sense of humor.

This role is an hourly position and the compensation range is $18.00-$24.00 per hour based on a full-time schedule. The hourly rate will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. In this position, there is the potential to earn more with an annual bonus plan that is up to 25% of your annual base earnings.
